Think you cannot install a chain link limestone fence? Think again. This article will show you simple installation steps on how to do it yourself, saving you a lot of money! Your reward in the end will be a secure, nice-looking fence people will praise for years to come.
Instructions as follows:
First of all, locate the boundary lines to your property and drive stakes into the ground along the extension of your property line. Stretch a string between each stake.
Secondly, dig post holes 8″ wide and 18″ to 30″ deep, with vertical sides (the hole should not slope but be perfectly straight top to bottom.
Thirdly, with crayon or chalk, mark the ground line on the posts. Once in place, the terminal posts should be the height of the fabric plus two inches.
Fourthly, set posts in concrete with a mixture of 1-part cement, 2-parts sand and 4-parts gravel. Mix a fairly heavy solution, as too much water weakens concrete, resulting in cracking. Posts should be centered in the hole.
Fifthly, check the plumb with a carpenter’s level, making sure the chalk or crayon marks remains at ground level.
Sixthly, when plumb, crown all concrete post footings for water drainage by sloping concrete away from post.
Seventhly, locate and set line posts. After 24 hours, when the concrete footings have hardened enough for posts to stay plumb, stretch taut between terminal posts. It should be positioned on the outside face of the posts, 4″ below the top.
Eighthly, measure the distance between terminal posts to determine exact distance between line posts.
Ninthly, starting at terminal post, unroll chain link fabric on the ground, along the outside of the fence line to next terminal post. Slide a tension bar through the first row of chain-link. Fasten the tension bar/fabric combination to the evenly spaced tension bands.
Tenthly, add fittings to terminal post and then add rail end bands. Apply all post caps to terminal posts and top rail. Walk along the fabric, and stand it up against the the fence frame, taking out the slack as you go. Apply post hinges to gate post.
Eleventh, stretch the fabric. Set gate in place aligning top of gate with top of fence. Adjust hinges to allow for full swing. Tighten all bolts securely.
Tips & Warnings
Familiarize yourself with the fence fittings and their uses.
When determining the positions of gate post, remember clearance for hinges, latches, etc. is including in the opening width of the gate. Standard gate widths are 36 inches, 39 inches, 42 inches and 48 inches for single walk gates and 10 feet or 12 feet for double drive gates.
Line posts should be installed so that the center of the line posts will line up with terminal post centers.
To remove excess fabric, open the top and bottom loops of a single strand of wire with pliers at the desired point of separation. Unwind the strand up through the links until the fabric comes apart.
A rule of thumb when installing chain link fencing is to not exceed 10 feet between posts.
Be sure to consult an expert before setting the corner posts due to the different type soil and terrain. The corner posts must be higher than the standard 45 inches for the individual posts.

- How to Fix Water Damaged Wood
Wood is an innate composite and it’s prone to serious damage when left exposed to water. The extent of any damage is increased with prolonged exposure, of course, and it can be nearly impossible to repair if too much time passes. We called on DryFast Systems, a water restoration company in Orlando, to help us understand the elaborate process used to bring damaged wood back to life. According to DryFast, to restore the wood yourself you will need a towel, a scrub sponge, soft cloth material, a mild abrasive, some epoxy resin, wood primer, sandpaper, putty knife, wood paint and a paintbrush. Whew! (Now you see why people keep them so busy rather than try to do this alone)
Firstly, set up the wooden article’s surface for repair. In case the surface of the article is wet, you will have to dry it using a towel. In extreme cases of damage, there will be rotting signs, and you will have to take away the slack particles and clean the surface to make it dry. Look for stains on the wooden surface. Stains due to Water damage are caused long back will be in the form of cloudy marks in white or sometimes in black around the water spilled areas. Inspecting the amount of the damage caused will let you know the quantity of cleaning solution you will have to use.
Make sure you clean the area of damage using a damp soft cloth that has been dipped in lukewarm water. Also, use a mild or gentle abrasive to clean the surface. Remember that the cleaning substance should not be too aggressive. You can use your own mild abrasive cleaning solution by adding tobacco ash and mineral oil. You will have scrub the affected area using the cloth or scrub sponge until the white colored stain marks disappear. Notably, it is recommended to wear disposable latex gloves as you will be dealing with chemicals that might damage your skin.
After removing the white stains around the water damaged area on the wooden surface, you will have to apply a suitable epoxy resin substance to the damaged region. This step is for wooden structures with small parts that are cracked or missing. The paste has to be stuffed into the cracks and holes using a putty knife to fill them and to even the surface. Leave it for some hours so that it gets dried up. Later, use sandpaper with the finest grit to treat the wooden surface and apply one coat of primer, especially an oil-based one and allow it to dry for some hours. The last step is to apply wooden paint or varnish to make the damaged region blend with the entire structure.
- It Doesn’t Always Pay to Be Little Miss Fix It!
The real problem regarding running a household and a restaurant,
is that after a while, there is no predicting when systems
failure occurs. First off, there are a lot of systems involved
in a house. There is the gas, which feeds the ovens and stoves.
In some cases it also feeds the heating system. There it the
heating system, which has a boiler and pipes emanating from it
and extends to every room in the house. There is the water
system, with separate water for drinking and for everyday use.
There is also the air-conditioning system which cools air inside
the house, or inside individual rooms.
When these things happen, there are a few things that can be
done. At home, I try to fix these things. I think that when
you’re at home, you should be able to fix or troubleshoot the
small things. When at work, you should have someone on call to
fix them. Most times, you can spend time at home doing these
things, whereas at work, your time is important and it’s better
to pay for things to be done, in order to work on more important
things. I run a business and my time is better suited for
planning and management, rather than fixing the hood range
It’s my job to call plumbers and A/C repair men when something
goes wrong with the plumbing or the A/C. That is their job, and
that is what they are paid to do. Besides, if anyone who is not
qualified, like me, even tries to do it, that person would be in
a lot of trouble. At home, if I need something fixed, I do it
myself. At work, it’s somebody else’s problem and I just need to
find that somebody. In the past, I’ve used this company for air conditioning in Vaughan
solutions and they’ve always done a great job.
What it all boils down to is a matter of focus and priority. At
home, I make it a point to save where I can. These are direct
expenses, which come out of my pocket. There are a hundred
things to consider. Running a household is a constant war
against excess and a runaway budget.
On the other hand, if you have your own business, if something
needs to be done, it has to be done quickly, with as little
disruption to the work and production. The expenses can be paid
out of revenues. As long as the revenues come in, there should
be no problem with paying off repairs. Calling in people for A/C
unit repairs is normal and does not happen very often. If these
things have become an inconvenience and needed to be fixed
often, then it would be time to buy a new one.
Getting something done is the real priority in any business,
especially in a restaurant environment. The food industry lives
on good food, quick service, and a personal touch. Systems in
use are transparent to the customer. They don’t really care if
the restaurant has problems, as long as they feel the problem
and do not inconvenience them, the diners are okay.

The most important reason behind Rhino-Shield’s success is versatility. Few other products have proved to be as flexible and adaptable as this superior ceramic coating. For one thing, Rhino-Shield works wonderfully on any type of surface. Even when wood is the most popular type of wall material, both homeowners and contractors will find that thanks to its amazing high-adherence formula, Rhino-Shield sticks on to most types of surfaces. One of the advantages of the product’s great flexibility is that, once printed, the finish can be used on Masonite, cement block, Hardie-plank, stone, brick, stucco and other types of sidings. And the best part is that the ceramic finish looks beautiful regardless the type of surface it is being used on.
One of this product’s greatest achievements lies in the fact that most of the materials used to make it are eco-friendly. Here are some of the features that make Rhino-Shield “green”: it is non-toxic, it has low odor (unlike most other chemical primers), it is safe for skin contact, Rhino-Shield has low VOC. Finally, it has been approved for solid waste landfill disposal. But the most important reason why ceramic coating is environmentally-friendly resides in its capacity to endure. Once product installation has been completed, customers get a 25-year guarantee that they will not need to do any other type of paint job during that period. This alone, reduces the amount of waste, water and workforce needed.
The installation process is quite an improvement itself. Since Rhino-Shield is not applied until the initial repair and renovation process is not completed, this ensures customers that ceramic coating is not a way to conceal building flaws, but an overall improvement. The process involves several stages, like assessment, repair, chemical treatment, replacement and final painting.

For those looking for a little more practical information, there are a few things that you can start to consider to help you with this.
For substantial water issues, there are a couple of preventative measures that you can put in place. The first is installing a sump pump. This pump in installed in the floor of your basement and when the water level gets too high, literally pumps water up through the floor and out of the basement wall. This water is then dropped at a safe distance from the house to ensure that is doesn’t return to the basement it was just pumped from!
The second is a perforated piece of piping that runs alongside the entire perimeter of the basement. This option is very similar to the sump pump but also includes digging a trench big enough for the pipe along the outside of the perimeter. Definitely some manual labor involved with that!
There are a couple of pieces of advice which rely on no technical information at all. Are there any cracks, big or small, visible in any part of the basement? If so, these need to be filled before addressing any of the other problems. When there is heavy downfall, go and have a look around your basement and judge where the big problems lie. - Have Insurance Cover Your Septic System Repairs
Most homes have a sort of double life. We all enjoy spending time at home, preferably in our favorite rooms. Likewise, some other rooms we love showing off to our friends or guests. Nonetheless, there is a dark and concealed home that we never show, and oftentimes neglect: our septic system. I mean, have you ever shown your friends around through the piping and plumbing? As much as we ignore the unsightly areas in our house, they are there and can become really visible, especially when we find out that we have drainage problems.
Septic System Repairs: A Question of Budget
When the plumbing fails and drainage problems appear, we suddenly remember that even when neglected, these systems are important. A clogged drainage can bring about serious consequences to our home’s overall structure and seriously damage other important areas as well. Moreover, a leaking septic tank or a collapsed one can mean a lot of unpleasant work, plus high expenses to fix the problem. Most plumbing repairs run high in cost. So much so, that they have been ranked as one of the most expensive items on the home repairs list, right after roofing.
Does Home Insurance Cover Septic System issues?
The answer to this question is much more complex than one would expect. In general terms, we should say: maybe. Let’s begin by analyzing what the septic system consists of and what liabilities are linked to it. Since the septic tank and all the piping involved is private property belonging only to the homeowner, (as opposed to public sewage systems that are state-run) whatever happens to this system is the sole responsibility of the owner. As regards insurance coverage, each company and each policy has its own specifications. Whereas some companies do cover them, others don’t. In addition, some coverage may be available for some issues, but not for others. Finally, many companies offer optional extra coverage for these types of problems. This means that if you have a homeowner’s insurance already, you should check the policy to see what aspects will be covered. Keep in mind that damaged caused by natural disasters, such as earthquakes or floods will not be covered by most insurance companies (about 99%).
Have Companies Pay
Regardless of the type of coverage you own, most companies will cover septic system problems under certain conditions; for example, in the event of an accident. This can be explained more clearly with this example: suppose there was a fire and the septic piping was underneath the house. If the fire caused the damage, then insurance would have to cover it. Other unexpected accidents may include certain electrical hazards or pest-related damage. Another typical situation in which insurance companies would have to pay includes having water that backs into your house. When septic contents flow back into your house, you are usually covered. The coverage typically includes the repair and the cleaning process, too. Anything from replacing fittings, to mopping the floor would be covered.
To round off, if you are not sure whether your policy covers septic systems, find out now and remember that good septic maintenance is vital to prevent future issues.

There are many options that you can choose from when working with micro-topping such as lace patterns, brushed patterns, brick as well as tile patterns. This can allow you to take personalizing your concrete to a whole new level that you may not have realized before with ease.
- Style Meets Performance With Longevity: Resin Drives Are Beautiful
It is widely known that there are two main types of finishes. These are Resin-bonded and resin-bound. Both of them make for a beautiful driveway and will also last you for many years to come.
Resin Bonded Aggregates
This kind of procedure requires scattering the resin that has been used to the top of scattering aggregates that are dry on a finish coat of resin. This process is typically called scatter coating. This technique calls for applying the resin on the right base by means of a squeegee, and ‘scattering’ aggregate or the preferred gravel on the resin before it sets. Some methods use pre-coated aggregates, while the others depend on using a resin within the rock that is isolated to seal the system.
Resin Bound Aggregates
Frequently called hand trowelled the combination combined is seen by this this method inside the resin before use and is trowelled into a smooth degree finish. Design components such as amounts or symbols may be included to the finished place through the use of comparing rock colors to produce the required finish. This technique relies on the resin being agitated in mixer as well as the combination, and after that spread over the foundation that is prepared screening trowels and bars. This kind of use usually ensures an acceptable depth is placed on the whole region and is a pretty common approach to use.
The procedures that are aforementioned make sure the resin places comparatively rapidly in many instances within 60-minutes. What this means is that aggregate and the resin should be used right with levelling carried out prior to the resin establishing as well as smoothing out and becoming overly rigid to control.
Given the make-up dried aggregates along with the resin it then uses and produces the goods may be broken and discolored through the setting process and guidelines for the process must be followed.
